Author Guidelines
Submission/Author Guidelines
Manuscripts submitted for publication must conform to the following guidelines:
- Manuscripts should discuss the theme of Islam, Muslim societies and the Islamic world, written either in Bahasa or English;
- Manuscripts must be typed in one-half spaced on A4-paper size;
- Manuscripts length is about 5.000-7.000 words (not including the references and bibliography);
- All submission must include 150-350 words abstract;
- Full name (s) of the author (s) must be stated, along with the institution and complete address;
- All submission should be in an editable format (Microsoft Word, WPS, etc.);
- Bibliographical reference must be noted in footnote and bibliography according to Jurnal Maqsadina;
- When a source is cited for the first name, complete information is provided:
- Full name (s) of the author (s)
- Title of the source in italic
- Place of publication
- Publishing company
- Date of publication
- The precise page that is cited
For the following citations of the same source, list the author’s last name, two or three words of the title, and the specific page number (s).

Please consider the following criteria
- The title of the manuscript submitted to Jurnal Kajian Islam Interdisipliner should reflect a specific focus of study
- The manuscript submitted should be based on research, library or fieldwork or other kinds of researches
- The manuscript should present a bibliography that entails primary sources, books, articles, interviews, or observations, and updated secondary sources from books or peer-reviewed journals
- The manuscript should contain an argument/thesis/finding which contributes to a scholarly discussion in a field of study, which clearly is mentioned and systematically presented in the abstract, content, and conclusion
- The manuscript should use good Bahasa or English, or at least can be understood; the author is wholly responsible for fixing and editing Bahasa or English; the copy editor of Jurnal Kajian Islam Interdisipliner is responsible only for minor typos and understandable grammatical errors
- The style and format, including the structure of the manuscript, footnote, bibliography, should follow those of Jurnal Kajian Islam Interdisipliner’s style (based on AJIS style)
- The template of Jurnal Kajian Islam Interdisipliner’s style (based on AJIS style) in word document format is available for download here.
Note
- It is suggested to use a reference manager at styling the footnote and the bibliography, such as Zotero, Mendeley, etc.
